... and I didn’t find it any different from the old top gear. I know I know heresy, but hear me out here. I’m was never really a big car guy until about a year ago and the first top gear I ever watched was the American version, which I loved. In comparison the British one anyways seemed boring to young me, and a lot of my friends actually agree with me. (FYI I’m going into to my senior year of high school so do with that what you will) I found this episode just as boring as the old top gear and I can’t wait for tanner rut and Adam to get back to back to being classic American idiots.

Watching extra gear rn and seems fun but the editing is cancer

You can hate me now

Only missed two things:

bumbling.

sudden technical/historical tangents by a host who reads too much.

The last few seasons of the previous TG were really stale anyway this was at least on par with it. This season will be ok it’s whether the second season improves or not, that’s when you can call it a success or failure.

I take exception to this.

Top Gear was getting quite lame and scripted, yes. When that hatchback challenge ended in everything blowing up, it just felt like they weren’t putting any effort in. They used to have stuff happen that could actually happen. Conceivably. But when there’s a massive explosion followed by an unscathed Jeremy sitting holding the charred steering wheel, it’s just stupid.

The LAST season though, the one that got interupted, that was properly back on form.

It was getting back to it but they only got about 4 episodes in. I don’t think it would be unwise to to say they jumped the shark toward the end. Either way the fact TG was ok, and we have GT coming we are still lucky to have two sizeable budget car shows, rather than more iterations of fast’n’lame.

Can I go out on a limb and guess you also really like the Star Wars prequels?

My biggest issues:

Chris.

They’re not taking the show far enough from what it used to be. It’s still a copy and will never work as well as the original.

I like the concept of star in a rally car, but the execution is DREADFUL.

Chris.

At least they ditched the news, though. I thought it was one of the best parts, but I can’t imagine Chris and Matt sitting down and being anything other than cringeworthy.

We shall see how it progresses, the studio parts are usually filmed on the Wednesday before being aired, there is still time to tweak it.

It is better than things like Fast’n’lame still, right?

I dont really like them but I don’t hate them, they’re the first Star Wars I saw, without the prequels I wouldnt have watched the better originals.
